The Mexican Space Agency, a decentralized body of the Secretariat of Infrastructure, Communications and Transportation (SICT), through a specific agreement, endorsed its alliance with the Autonomous University of Zacatecas (UAZ) to promote and strengthen education and space activities in that entity.
The event was chaired by the general director of the AEM, Salvador Landeros Ayala, and the Rector of the UAZ, Rubén De Jesús Ibarra Reyes, who agreed on their desire that this alliance can contribute to an advanced, more equitable and just society.
The AEM continues to redouble efforts for the training of our youth from all over the country in advanced technologies, in order to apply them to priority social tasks, as is the case in Zacatecas, where we articulate academia, industry and government around that goal, he stressed. Landers.
For his part, Rector Ibarra said: “We endorse the commitment of the UAZ with the AEM to strengthen the university as a lever of development for our young people for the benefit of the country, because in the current era there can be no developed society without science and technology. ”, he stressed.
He added that the traditional activities of the state, mining and agriculture, can now be enhanced with space technology according to the new times, thanks to the impulse given to this matter in the entity, since the AEM has played a very important role in benefit of the UAZ.
Towards this goal, the UAZ through its Academic Unit of Electrical Engineering, Academic Body of Telecommunications and Electronics, will collaborate with the AEM in the implementation and start-up of its Regional Center for Space Development (CREDES) in Zacatecas.
There, national technical capacities will be developed in Space Telecommunications Systems, Electronic Design and Embedded Systems, Radio Defined by Software and the Internet of Satellite Things, Antennas and Radiofrequency, and Autonomous Mobile Systems, among others.
For the effective fulfillment of this objective, the efforts will also be consolidated with an Advisory and Technical Committee, as well as the UAZ will also allocate human and equipment resources, for the realization and development of space projects in the CREDES facilities.
The mission of CREDES in Zacatecas includes using science and technology to strengthen space telecommunications, promoting applied research, promoting innovation and the formation of highly specialized human capital, they concluded.
